First high performance center
SER PORTERO
The first high-performance centre SER PORTERO - (Nàstic Sports Academy) is the educational and training project in high-level sport that will host, on a full-board residential basis, 100 students/athletes from different parts of the world and who are admitted based on their talent.
- At the Camp Joliu Campus, sports disciplines such as football, basketball, athletics, paddle tennis, cycling, volleyball, judo, skating, roller hockey and others can be practiced. A few kilometres from the Camp Joliu Campus, sports such as sailing and motor sports such as car racing and motorcycling can be practiced.
- The first high-performance centre SER PORTERO - (Nàstic Sports Academy) aims to make possible the difficult combination of training, academic and personal success of athletes with their progress and improvement in high sports performance. All athletes will receive sports training and simultaneously develop their corresponding studies, whether compulsory secondary education (ESO), high school or university studies.
- The first high-performance centre SER PORTERO - (Nàstic Sports Academy) has as its training model the personalization of the training and sports process through an educational tutor who will accompany and "train for life" through their day to day. The professionals at the first high-performance centre SER PORTERO - (Nàstic Sports Academy) want to get to know the athletes and we want to provide them with professionalism and generate the emotional bond necessary to help them grow in all areas of life: academic, sporting, personal and relational.
- In order to achieve the highest educational excellence for student athletes, we have set ourselves the following objectives:
- Access to a prestigious education for all athletes (some with scholarships) with official qualifications in any of the studies that the campus currently offers (including university studies), and to enable successful entry into the labour market or the continuation of their studies in Spanish and American universities.
- Improving personal sporting abilities through a professional methodology from Nàstic de Tarragona (a professional sports club) and in accordance with the possibilities and potential of each person (early detection of talent is key to their promotion to a professional level in top-level clubs), and advice for their development in that market.
- The comprehensive personal development and growth of the young student/athlete, which is the only one of the three objectives that is sure to enable their personal and professional success throughout their life.
It's already a reality!

Residency
SER PORTERO
Campus Camp Joliu
(Nàstic Sports Academy)
THE HOME AND FAMILY OF THE RESIDENTS BEING A DOORMAN
- The residence welcomes athletes who, away from their families, will live together in the central building of the Camp Joliu campus.
- The challenge we face as educators who are part of the residential family is to turn the building into their home and to become their family.
- The SER PORTERO / Nàstic Sports Academy residence has educational staff 24 hours a day, every day of the week, including Saturdays and holidays. The fact of always having an educational reference at SER PORTERO / Nàstic Sports Academy means assuming and making our own the responsibility of supervising and accompanying the adolescents who live there.
- The educational principles that support the residential ideology are: education for responsibility and autonomy, active participation of residents and education in values, attitudes and norms that enable quality coexistence.
- The residence has a team of educators who must help residents in their daily lives, in achieving hygiene, order, eating and emotional well-being habits.
- The educators must create, together with the residents, a family atmosphere and an environment of warmth by offering recreational, cultural, leisure and enjoyment activities. Residents must actively participate in their training and coexistence process in the residence.
Nàstic Sports Academy
Tutorial action
Comprehensive support for athletes
- From SAID (Comprehensive Athlete Care Service) we offer support from the moment you arrive at the academy until the last day of your membership.
- The tutor is the person responsible and the point of reference for this support with the athlete from the emotional-affective, cognitive, and relational aspects of the athlete.
- The tutor must help the athlete in his/her integration, providing follow-up support in the academic, family, and vocational spheres and following up on his/her sporting development.
- We have a ratio of one tutor for every seven athletes. The objective of this tutor is to make the student aware of the importance of making sports and academic training compatible and understanding that the key to the success of the tutor/athlete relationship will be to generate an emotional and trusting bond when the athlete is in difficulties or in low spirits.
- The tutor and the athlete will jointly draw up a work plan to improve in the different areas of their life with the aim of developing as a person. We are talking about working on values, attitudes, and invisible training through habits.

Understanding the role of the goalkeeper.
The goalkeeper is part of a football team, he shares a common goal with his teammates. Historically, the goalkeeper has lived in solitude, I would even dare to say in incomprehension. The goalkeeper, the one who dresses differently, the one who plays with his hands, the one whose mistake is synonymous with a goal.
THE ROLE OF THE GOALKEEPER
Avoiding the dangers that the game poses.
Responsibility. “He lives in the penalty area, where games are won and lost.”
Emotional management. Fears, error management, tolerance of frustration. “Serenity from courage.”
The leadership of Ernesto Garcia
All successful projects need a reference point. And the one at the SCHOOL is Ernesto García. Ernesto has been trained and qualified by the Royal Spanish Federation and has been the coordinator for 15 years of teams in the 1st and 2nd divisions of Spain. More than 6,000 goalkeepers trained and more than 250 of them in national teams and professional clubs endorse the training methodology at SER PORTERO. Ernesto has created an innovative model where he works with materials created by himself. The training method is useful and effective for goalkeepers who are just starting out and for high-performance goalkeepers.

For Ernesto García, the name SER PORTERO is not a coincidence. The BEING comes before the GOALKEEPER. When we talk about the BEING we are referring to values, respect for the responsibility of wanting to BE a goalkeeper.
The goalkeeping staff that is part of the project has been trained and educated by Ernesto. His professionalism, his knowledge of the pedagogical model and his passion and commitment will make the project a success.
SER PORTERO and the Nàstic Sports Academy have joined forces in this unique project, where the sporting field, led by Ernesto through the SER PORTERO methodology, merges with NSA & SER PORTERO-Camp Joliu where, through academic excellence and personal support, we will help the athlete understand that SER also has to do with academic training, with your invisible training through respect for a lifestyle that has to do with how you take care of yourself, how you eat, the importance you give to rest or the management of free time.
